PTE or Pearson test Of English Academic is an english proficiency test for higher study aspirants who wish to study in Australia, UK and few other countries.PTE is accepted almost worldwide by governments, universities and professional bodies and the test includes 4 communicative skills - Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening.
Each skill is evaluated out of 90 and the overall score is measured on a scale of 90. The scale is based on the CEFR level ( common European Framework Of Research with A - A1 and A2 being the Beginner Level; B- B1 B2 being the Intermediate Level and C- C1 C2 being the Advanced Level .A1 A2 denotes Basic User Of English ;B1 B2 represents Independent User and C1 C2 refers to the Proficient User of the language.
PTE was launched in India in 2009 and ever since then it is considered to be one of the most unbiased examinations as it uses artificial intelligence to modulate the exam .Exam takers will have to answer 20 different questions types within 2 hr 15 mins.
PTE Pattern - overall exam
An English language exam that has been developed to test the Speaking & Writing skills (54 – 67 minutes), Reading skills (29 – 30 minutes), and Listening skills (30 – 43 minutes) of candidates aspiring to study in an English-speaking country.

PTE Exam Pattern: Speaking and Writing — 54 - 67 minutes
As the name implies, this section tests the candidates based on their 2 major skills of communication, which are spoken and written skills. This section comprises six small sections that test you on your promptness over speaking and writing the written test that you would get to read for the first time. The complete section is given a time duration of 54 - 67 minutes and the time allotted to each segment is as follows:

55 seconds: 25 seconds for prompt, 30 seconds to record
30-40 seconds to prepare for reading out the text of 60 words
15 seconds: 3-9 seconds for prompt, 15 seconds to record
25 seconds are granted to study the image as well as prepare your response on the same
90 seconds for prompt length, 10 seconds to prepare and 40 seconds to answer
20 seconds: 3-9 seconds for prompt, 10 seconds to answer
10 minutes to answer to text prompt of 300 words
20 minutes to answer to text prompt of 2-3 sentences
Time Allocation: 54 - 67 minutes
PTE Exam Pattern: Reading Section 29 - 30 mins

PTE Listening Format: The listening section of the PTE Academic is stretched over 30 to 43 minutes of duration. This one is designed to determine the ability to understand spoken English by the candidate. Here, the student needs to ascertain that they carefully hear the audio file played and retain what they heard. This section is divided into 8 segments and the time given to each segment is as follows.
